Working philosophy

The project is structured into four work packages (coordination, hydromorphology, ecology and sociology). Based on the different scientific backgrounds of the partners an interdisciplinary approach is guaranteed. First, within the individual work packages the sectoral analysis of the efficiency of preservation and restoration of river floodplains is performed. Secondly, the sectoral results are integrated to formulate an interdisciplinary floodplain evaluation methodology.

The major exploitation of PRO_Floodplain’s results will be a generally understandable description of the effectiveness of flood risk reduction by river floodplain preservation and restoration.
